I have learned more about customer service in the last 6 months, than my entire life. I have never been a real consumer. I buy what's cheap and what's on sale... I have never been a prioriety conusmer or expected amazing customer service, because really I have never paid for it.
But planning a wedding means I am willingly offering stupid amounts of money for frivilious stuff I don't really need, but can justify because its my wedding and you only get married once.
That being said, was I wrong to expect retailers to WANT to work with me? I am not expecting anyone to fall at my feet and cater to my every desire, but a little courtesy, excitement and enthusiam goes a long way for getting me to part with my monies.
I have had a few AMAZING experiences... the jump and squeal reaction you expect from bridal retailers and I have had a few TERRIBLE experiences... so terrible they have soured my taste for wedding planning. I don't know... I am ranting... afterall it is my blog and I will rant if I want to, but why so much negativity??
I am still reeling over the terrible response I got from my florist of choice. I am fighting internally to go back and try to work with them again, because they are the most convienent, but I can't get past the snarking greeting and holyer-than-thou attitude I got when I explained why I was there.
Hmpf.
And you crazy folk who want to being wedding planners... you're insane. I never want to go through this experience again... not for all the money in the world.
Ok... rant over. I have a honeymoon and a groom, that's all that really matters... may be we won't have flowers at all... Hmmm... that's the best idea I have had ALL
