Stag & Doe

It's finally time to plan the Stag & Doe... I should be leaving this to my bridal party, but I am TOO excited and TOO controlling. Ha!

It's been a fiasco (another one ;). We found a venue and picked a date, but then the co-ordinator popped out a baby, a month early, and everything was lost. We tried to follow up with the next in command, but she wasn't ready to take lead and made empty promises before telling us she booked a tournament on our day... 2 months after we started planning. Thanks for that 'Burloak Sports Centre'. About  a month ago we were left scrambling, because most places were booked up and expensive.

We called in an expert (Richard fantastically amazing cousin) and she found us a great hall with NO rules on what we could do, which should make the party that much more fun. The cost wasn't too high and planning kicked into high gear. The rules had changed and we were now in charge of licenses, insurance and alcohol, a bit of extra work, but worth it for the pay-out. Hopefully.

We booked The Burlington Lions Club, downtown Burlington on April 20th. I am telling YOU this, because YOU need to be there. This event isn't possible without you.

Now to the fun... we get to start setting up games, designing tickets and sourcing prizes. It sounds like a lot of work, but honestly I love this stuff. I feel so productive when I lock something in.

The first thing we decided on was the theme. We toyed with a Carnival theme, a birthday party theme and a Hawaiian theme, but all seemed redundant and over done; then it hit me... COPS & ROBBERS! People can dress up, we can have hand cuffs and shoot toy guns... PLUS Colin Richard's second in command, is OPP!

Our bartenders have offered to dress up and so has our wedding party. We found games (including: Jail where you pay to lock someone up and by 'lock up' we mean handcuff to Richard or myself for 5minutes. They have the ability to 'bail out' for $5. How much fun is that?!?!)... applied for a license and inquired about insurance. We have a long list of prizes thanks to our bridal party; including a tablet, matching his and hers rings, sunglasses and dozens of gift certificates.

Now this week I had time to doodle... check out the tickets/picture for set-up. Eeeee!!

That's it for now... but just in case you're wondering... tickets are $15 or 2 for $25. You can get them from Richard, myself or anyone in the bridal party... you can even get them at the door. We're going to have a jager bombs, doors prizes and lots of games... AND of coruse the drinks will be CHEAP.  It should be a great night!!

So great Richard and I will be using this night to celebrate since our Stags will be small and out of province... more on that later.

We can't wait to celebrate with everyone!!

Love!
