This past weekend I went up to Perkinsfield to celebrate my Dad's 62nd birthday (HAPPY BIRTHDAY Dad!) While we were there he showed me his NEW suit for the wedding. My Dad hasn't bought a suit since his own wedding to my mother in 1977 (?) Which was a VERY trendy tan suit with brown trim and a ruffle shirt (if I can find a picture I PROMISE to post it). Anyways... he told me it was a surprise, but we too excited not to share, pictured below is my Dad's Calvin Klein suit, complete with French Cuffs and a PINK tie (which I think he picked to get under my skin, but I love it!) He wouldn't try it on, because it is still a surprise for him.
This deserved its own post... if you don't know my Dad he is a relaxed sweat pants and t-shirt kind of guy, always shopping at thrift stores and never owning something that was custom tailored. I didn't give him any guidelines for the wedding... I just asked him to be there.
I am so proud of him and his choice... it warms my heart to know how excited he is to see his daughter get married, he has even started practising his dance moves with Sophie so our first dance together will be perfect.
I love you, Dad.
