I lost my cake maker, but found my dress maker so we'll call it a draw.
I have to say I am a little broken hearted... I was so excited to work with Too Nice Too Slice. They make incredible cakes with great referrals. Tonight was suppose to be our consultation and despite the push back from Richard I was really looking forward to brainstorming with a professional. Chrissie had to cancel and although I can't fault her at all (her best friends wedding - in Portugal - fell on the same weekend as ours)... it sucks, because I have 3 options...
1 - No cake. We have a dessert table, which is enough food.
2 - My Mother in Laws suggestion. A great tasting cake, but little skill on the decorating front
3 - Yellowpages and cross my fingers.
I want to pout and throw a tantrum. I want a work of art, an amazing cake that stops people in their tracks. I lost out on so many other personal details that this was my BIG thing and its gone.
On the up note (although I am not feeling that positive today) I re-connected with Susan, my dress maker. I had lost her over the hustle and bustle of summer vacation and I was afraid I might never find her again. I had planned to order the dress if not hearing from her in the next week, but I didn't want too. Finally yesterday I sent a desperate plea (it felt desperate) to her inbox and got a happy reply. There was a confusion and she had actually replied 2 months ago, but I never got it. Whewf... one crisis averted.
We're going to get together in the next couple weeks to make a plan and get started. Yay!
10 months tomorrow... and Happy Anniversary to Dave & Cassy who are getting married in 9 short days... ah!!
