I am so excited to say my dress is in the works, with a spectacular surprise for everyone on the day of... if only I can keep the secret for the next 290 days. Whewf... I have never kept a secret that long from anyone.
So the process... I met with Susan of 'Designs by Hart' (no website or I would link to it)... we discussed design and fabrics, I picked silk. She did some sketches for me and measured everything. From there she said she will find my fabrics and work on the mock-up. A cotton dress to try proportions. Then she makes my dress... I can not wait to see it. I can not wait to share it.
I wish I could share the details... even pictures, but sadly Richard reads this blog and I am too much of a traditionalist. Funnily enough he claims to have no interest in my dress and is willing to wait for July 1, but hangs on my every word when I fawn all over my dress-to-be... in fact he remembers little hints I have dropped. He knows its natural white; a strict request from him, he knows its strapless; although that is a given, he knows the back structure (how it does up); also a request... but important to both of us.
I need wiggle room... I have yet to determine how I will address the stress of wedding planning... over eating or starving... I picture my mothers foot firmly planted on my ass as she yanks on the ribbon scared of breaking me, as I beg her to go tighter - I don't need to breathe!
Today also marks my longest relationship of 'love and shit' (Thank you Pete)... 3 years ago today (1am) Richard showed up to my apartment with a Red Bull. He had flown home from Alberta that evening and raced to my apartment for the first time.... the first time it was more than just friends... the first time we kissed... the first time we fell asleep together and the first time I saw a future where I wasn't standing alone.
Enough Goo!
Happy 3 years, my love... now raise your glass (mug of coffee is fine) and toast to many more.
I am completely full of love and affection today... so if you ever needed a favor, now is the time to ask.
All my love!
